The first way to overcome this is to believe that any small effort can contribute to the total picture of good health. Here are some ways you can get started.</p>
<p>1. Drink eight to ten glasses of water. The first principle of dieting is hydration. For the most part, when folks believe they are hungry, they are usually thirsty. Drink.</p>
<p>2. Eat four servings of fruit. Four servings of fruit will help digestion, and kill the cravings for sweets and junk<span id="more-9"></span> food.</p>
<p>3. Eat more dairy. Calcium and Vitamin D have been proven to increase weight loss and burn fat.</p>
<p>4. Protein does a body good. Lean meats, poultry and fish build muscle and decrease cravings.</p>
<p>5. Sipping two to four cups of green tea will speed metabolism.</p>

<p>1. Start exercising! As we age, our bodies tend to hang onto weight and we develop problem areas of the body that are often hard<span id="more-8"></span> to fix. When you exercise, though, you can help shed unwanted pounds, plus you are doing something good for your health. People who stay active report less health problems than people who live a mostly sedatary life. </p>
<p>2. Quit smoking or drinking alcohol to excess. Obviously, smoking is a major contributor to health problems, not to mention it&#8217;s an expensive and dirty habit, and when you quit smoking, you will add years onto your life. Drinking to excesses is also bad for your health, although studies have shown it&#8217;s ok and sometimes good for your health to have a drink a day. Anything more tends to become bad for your health. </p>
<p>3. Laugh! It seems simple, but laughter is a natural remedy that can trigger emotions in the body that promote wellness. So laugh hard, and laugh often. </p>
<p>4. Try to cut down on stress. This is not always easy to do, but if you can eliminate just one cause of great stress in your life, you will begin to feel the difference in your emotional wellbeing. </p>
